Liverpool are hoping to sign Christian Eriksen in the summer and Ajax have conceded they may struggle to keep hold of the midfielder.
The Denmark international, who joined the club as a 16-year-old from OB Odense in 2008, has once again been in fine form this season, helping Ajax claim their third successive Eredivisie title.
Scouts from a number of top European clubs have traveled to Amsterdam Arena this campaign in order to get a closer look at Eriksen.
The Reds as well as Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old, while Tottenham are also said to be interested.
Ajax have previously been resistant to any bids for the star but manager Frank de Boer is bracing himself for further interest at the end of the season, particularly from the Bundesliga.
“If clubs do not show up, then they don’t have any intelligence,” said De Boer. “If I was called than I wouldn’t tell it to you. But Chris would suit well in Germany.”
Ajax director of football Marc Overmars added in De Telegraaf: “Informally a number of clubs have contacted us.”
