Arsenal star Mathieu Debuchy is being courted by both Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window, according to reports from the Daily Star.
Debuchy was signed by the Gunners in the summer of 2014 with the intention of making the France international their long-term right back replacement for Bacary Sagna, but an injury early last season saw him miss most of the campaign.
The 30-year-old’s absence allowed youngster Hector a chance at the position, and Debuchy is looking to leave the club after struggling to regain his place.
His availability has therefore alerted Villa and West Brom, but Lions manager Remi Garde is hoping his French connection could help lure the former Newcastle United star to Villa Park instead of the Hawthornes.
However, the Midlands duo will need to fend off competition from the Italian Serie A, with Roma also closely monitoring Debuchy’s current situation.
Debuchy has only made seven appearances in all competitions this season.
