Liverpool and Arsenal are facing a fight with Serie A giants Inter Milan for the signature of Manchester City midfielder James Milner, according to the Daily Mirror.
Milner is out of contract at the Etihad in the summer, and looks set to leave the club having failed to earn himself regular first team football – despite some impressive performances.
Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked with a move for the England international, and now reports suggest Inter Milan and former manager Roberto Mancini have also joined the hunt.
Milner is said to only be willing to sign a new deal with the Premier League champions if he is offered a new four year contract.
With City reluctant to offer such a long deal to a player who is now 29-years-of-age, it seems a switch in the summer is the most likely outcome.
Reports suggest City have offered a three year contract worth £80,000 a week following a run of impressive performances from the former Leeds and Aston Villa man.
But Milner has a desire for his next deal to be his last, and with City unable to provide assurances he will spent the remainder of his career at the Etihad, Liverpool, Arsenal and Inter Milan have been monitoring the situation closely.
