Premier League preview: Fulham v Bolton

%image% Mark Hughes’ Fulham side will be hoping to put further space between themselves and the relegation zone when they host Bolton on Wednesday.Fulham are in 13th place in the English Premier League with five games still to play, but are just five points clear of the drop zone after their 1-1 draw with Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

They meet a Bolton side with little left to play for in 2010-11 – sitting in eighth place, nine short of Spurs in fifth and the resulting Europa League berth that would accompany such a finish.

That said, Owen Coyle’s side head into the match on the back of an impressive 2-1 win over Arsenal at Reebok Stadium on Sunday, as they hit back hard from their embarrassing 5-0 FA Cup semi-final thumping at the hands of Stoke a week earlier.

The two sides have met twice already this season, playing out a goalless draw at Reebok Stadium on the opening day before Bolton enjoyed a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage on February 20 in an FA Cup fifth-round encounter, thanks to a goal from Ivan Klasnic.

Coyle has a few problems from the treatment room to worry him ahead of the clash, with impressive midfielder Stuart Holden ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury and full-back Samuel Ricketts also unavailable.

Hughes has some fitness concerns of his own ahead of the match, with Damian Duff still struggling with an Achilles tendon complaint, although he is a chance to return for the match.

Swiss defender Philippe Senderos is Hughes’ only other absentee as the long-term casualty continues to battle back from a ruptured Achilles tendon that has kept him out for the entire campaign.
