According to Cagliari president Tommaso Giullini, Chelsea and Juventus have both held talks regarding Godfred Donsah over a summer transfer, Football Italia reports.
Donsah has been recently linked with a move away from the Italian Serie A, with Tottenham and Arsenal also previously keen on the Ghanaian midfielder.
And it seems that the champions of England and Italy are both already beginning negotiations in order to lure the player to their respective clubs, with Cagliari president Giullini confirming there have been discussions regarding his exit.
Juve are looking to sign Gonsah as a potential replacement for Arturo Vidal in defensive midfield after the Chilean left the Old Lady for Bayern Munich last week.
However, Giullini is adamant that the 19-year-old will remain at the Stadio Sant’Elia for at least another season, with a £4.2million bid from Juve already rejected by the club.
“We had a chat a few weeks ago with Juventus and Chelsea, but I am stunned by all these rumours around him. The lad needs to grow up with us,” Giulini said.
“We have many other players on low wages and their contracts will be renewed at the right time, including Donsah’s.
“We received a request to attend a meeting via a lawyer, but I am accustomed to doing things a different way.
“As soon as the right moment comes, we’ll be happy to renew his contract.”
Donsah made 23 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals.
