PSG boss rules out move for United striker

Manchester United Striker Wayne Rooney

Paris St Germain manager Laurent Blanc has dismissed talk of the French club signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this summer, as reported by Sky Sports.

Rooney has told United he wants to leave Old Trafford but the club are firm in their stance that the England forward will not be leaving this summer.

Chelsea have made a bid for the wantaway forward but David Moyes is not having any of it and is set for crunch talks with the number 10 when they return from their pre-season tour of Australia in which Danny Welbeck notched twice in a 5-1 yesterday.

PSG signed Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani last week and are set to keep Zlatan Ibrahimovic, leaving the signing of Rooney as pointless..

“He is an amazing player, his qualities are well known by everyone,” Blanc told reporters.

“But in attack we are well supplied.

“We will rather look for players in midfield. If there should be another reinforcement, it should be in that position.

“Rooney could play anywhere, but his best position is in the heart of attack.”
