Paris Saint Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has urged midfielder David Beckham to sign an extension to his short term contract in the French capital.
The big spending Ligue 1 leaders has proved the perfect place for the former England captain to regain fitness and attract even more interest in his global brand.
Beckham is donating his entire wage packet to a local charity in Paris and would continue to do so if he were to remain at PSG.
The 37 year old’s current deal runs out at the end of the season but Ancelotti is hoping that he will stay on with the club next season.
PSG are looking to add even more big name signings to their squad in the summer and Beckham would be another galactico name on the squad sheet if he were to stay.
Ancelotti knows the decision is up to the player, but he hopes for a long term stay for Beckham in France.
“I would really like Beckham to extend his contract but, once again, it’s a decision the player has to take in agreement with the club. But I’m in favour of it.” Ancelotti told Sky Sports.
