Big-spending French club Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be ready to launch an £8 million bid for John Terry, according to The Daily Mail.
The capital-city side are eager to sign a big-name central defender this summer, and after missing out on AC Milan’s Thiago Silva have turned their attentions to the Chelsea skipper.
Terry’s inclusion in the Three Lions squad for the Euro 2012 championships was something of a controversy, but the veteran put in solid performances for Roy Hodgson’s men.
PSG are eager to sign Terry and will bid £8 million for him this week, hoping that the player’s close bond to former manager Carlo Ancelotti will help bring him across the channel.
Meanwhile, the Blues are thought to be monitoring Theo Walcott’s contract situation, as the Arsenal winger has stalled on signing an extension.
Walcott, who was forced to play a bit-part role for his nation in Ukraine and Poland, is yet to agree to stay on in north London, with rivals Chelsea ready to pounce should the attacker eye a new challenge.
