Tony Pulis is closing in on his first cash purchase of the summer with Wilson Palacios set for a move to the Britannia Stadium according to the Daily Mail.
Potters boss Tony Pulis has only managed to sign free agent Jonathan Woodgate after his contract expired at Tottenham.
Pulis is now set to raid White Hart Lane again to sign the Honduran midfielder for who has been a target since the transfer window opened.
He admitted that an £8 million deal is in the pipeline but hasn’t heard from Palacios.
Pulis told the Daily Mail: “We haven’t had Palacios in our club to tell us whether he’s fit, injured or whatever.
“But fingers crossed we will get some new players in. We know we’ve got to get some in to give the squad a lift. I’m not getting desperate – I’m a cool head”
The 27-year-old didn’t play in Spurs’ Premier League defeat against Manchester United on Monday night.
Harry Redknapp has deemed the midfielder surplus to requirements and is keen to sell so he can raise funds to sign new players.
Palacios moved to North London from Wigan for £12 million in 2009 but has found first team opportunities hard to come by in the last year.
