Pulis pleased despite defeat

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has urged his side to start taking their chances to turn some positive performances into positive results.

A 1-0 loss at Aston Villa meant that the Potters have now won just once in nine away games in the Premier League this season, although Pulis feels that his side are playing well on their travels.

He told Sky Sports News:"I actually think we're playing better now than what we played last year. We just need a few results to be honest to give us the confidence to push on.

"But our performances, especially away from home, have been very, very good this year.

"There have been one or two occasions where we've let ourselves down, but generally we've played better as a team. We need to score goals, that's the big problem for us at the moment.

"If you look at the goals return we've had from the forwards that we've got, we've got to do better.

"Everybody's in it together, we've got to defend better, we certainly created more chances.

"We look a lot more fluid when we go forward, but we have got to start taking the chances that are coming along."
