The build up to this weekend’s Premier League action has been centred around the clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.
It is arguably the biggest game of the season so far, and one that Paul Ince thinks will determine Liverpool’s position in he title race.
As it stands, Jurgen Klopp’s men sit seven points adrift of second-placed United, who are only below leaders Manchester City because of goal difference.
Jose Mourinho’s team are unbeaten in the top flight, while the Merseyside outfit have won three, drawn three and lost one.
It is too early to determine who will be in the chase for the elusive English trophy come May, but Ince, who played for both Liverpool and United in his career, thinks that this weekend’s result will throw one of the clubs out of the running.
The Daily Star quotes the 49-year-old as saying:
“If Liverpool lose, could you really class them as title contenders? At the minute, I can’t see it. They are way behind United and City and if they drop three more points here, they’re not going to make that gap up – no chance.”
Both league meetings between the pair last season ended in draws.
