QPR and Man United Legend to Retire

Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand is considering retiring at the end of the season according to the Daily Star.

The Manchester United legend admits he is struggling to cope with the pace of the top flight as he plays into his 35th year.

When asked as to his plans of retirement, Ferdinand replied: “I probably think the end of this season.”

“I think you get to a time where you kind of start understanding your body and the strains playing football [is] putting your body through, going out and training every day.”

“I’m not fearful of retirement, I’m looking forward to it, I can see some good stuff hopefully happening ahead.”

The former Leeds United star is determined to stay involved in the game and has already made several appearances as a TV pundit.

Ferdinand currently faces an FA improper conduct charge which is reportedly in connection with an allegedly offensive tweet.
