QPR close in on Croatian ace

Dynamo Kiev midfielder Niko KranjcarQPR are close to agreeing a deal for Dynamo Kiev midfielder Nico Kranjcar, according to reports from The Metro.

Super Hoops boss Harry Redknapp managed the Croatian at both Portsmouth and Tottenham and is keen to bring him in to help his new team avoid relegation.

The deal is expected to be concluded before the January transfer window slams shut on Thursday, with the 28-year-old happy to return to the Premier League.

He only left Spurs over the summer to join the Ukrainian giants after falling out of favour in North London.

Despite featuring regularly for the club in both domestic and European competition, Kiev are believed to be willing to allow him to leave.

‘Arry will attempt to follow Kranjcar’s signing by bringing in West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie.

The Baggies have knocked back two bids for the Nigerian, despite his criticisms of the club via Twitter.

But, Redknapp still believes he can get his man and will return with a bid ahead of deadline day.

The ex-Tottenham manager has made no secret of his desire to bring in new players, but has stepped up his efforts in the past few days following the club’s dismal FA Cup display against the MK Dons.
