QPR need SIX more signings to avoid relegation, says ex-star

Newly promoted QPR need a further six signings before the season starts to avoid an immediate return to the Championship, according to their former striker Kevin Gallen.

The Super Hoops secured their return to the top tier via the play-offs last term, and have already been active in the transfer market.

Harry Redknapp has overseen deals for defensive duo Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker to address backline concerns, and is now thought to be eyeing up forward-thinking arrivals to ensure that the drop is avoided.

Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin are the club’s only experienced strikers with Loic Remy due to sign for Liverpool, and Gallen believes that this area must be addressed and that ‘Arry may need to sign as many as six new stars to boost his sides chances of staying up:

“I think they need another 6 signings. They need another two strikers because we have Bobby [Zamora] and Charlie [Austin] and that’s pretty much it,” he told The Express.

“You can’t go into a new season with just two strikers.

“One will pick up an injury and a loss of form. You need at least three more strikers that can come in and do the business because they need the goals to stay up.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if two more strikers, a midfielder, a right back, a left back and a centre half comes in.”
