Leaders Chelsea will hope to put some demons to rest as they travel to Loftus Road to take on QPR on Saturday.
The corresponding fixture last season was shrouded with controversy, with Chelsea losing Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba to red cards, whilst John Terry’s altercation with Anton Ferdinand brought a court case and an FA investigation.
In amongst all the controversy, QPR picked up a 1-0 victory courtesy of an early Heider Helguson penalty. This was QPR’s first triumph over their West London rivals in 16 years.
It will be a difficult feat to achieve a similar result against Roberto Di Matteo’s side, who have started the season in fantastic form, winning three out of three matches, scoring eight and conceding just two in the process.
Eden Hazard has slotted into the side seamlessly, whilst Fernando Torres looks to have rediscovered the form that seemed to have deserted him for the first 18 months of his Stamford Bridge career.
QPR have made a strange start to the season, being humbled 5-0 at home to Swansea on the opening day, before earning a point at Carrow road then losing 3-1 to Champions Manchester City at the Etihad.
Mark Hughes new look side will naturally take time to gel and adapt, but with just one point from a possible 9, now is not the best time to take on the league leaders, especially with a score to settle.
Chelsea captain John Terry is set to miss out with an ankle injury, and in doing so will avoid an awkward reunion with Anton Ferdinand, who himself is also out with a shoulder injury.
Prediction: QPR 1-3 Chelsea
