QPR want Tottenham hit-man to fire them to safety

QPR chief Harry Redknapp is ready to turn to Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor in January as he plots to keep his side clear of relegation, according to reports from The Sun.

The Super Hoops chief worked with the Togolese ace during his time at White Hart Lane, bringing him to the club, initially on loan, from Manchester City.

Adebayor was a big hit in his debut season with Spurs, and Redknapp has since remained a big fan of the forward.

Now he wants him to make the short trip across London as he looks to boost his firepower in a bid to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

The R’s have scored just four goals – only Burnley have fewer in the Premier Legaue – so far this term, with the late loss of Loic Remy to Chelsea having hit them hard.

Redknapp attempted to get Fabio Borini in on deadline day during the last transfer window, but the Italian opted to stay at Liverpool.

Adebayor is seen as the ideal solution to the problem in the New Year, with ‘Arry convinced his proven track record in the English top flight will guarantee the goals his side need.

Jermain Defoe – another striker he coached – is also a target, with reports claiming he is ready to leave Toronto after just one year in MLS.
