Queens Park Rangers manager consider swoop for Stoke target-man

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp said he could still choose to add Peter Crouch to his forward line after the towering target-man impressed for Stoke City in the 2-2 draw with his side, Express reports.

Mark Hughes however is also a huge fan of his striker and took the time to heap praise on the 33-year-old Englishman who has always caused problems for his opponents.

Hughes said: “He’s a fit guy. Pace isn’t a main asset that he has. I know myself, my game wasn’t based on pace and I was able to go on until I was 38.

“Maybe when you get a little bit older you get a better understanding of what’s required and how you can be most effective and more of an irritant to the opposition.”

Redknapp, who has worked with Crouch on several occasions with a host of English Premier League clubs and could be keen for a reunion after he was asked about a move for the forward.

He said: “You never know, do you. I like Crouchy, he knows how to play. He knows what he’s doing and brings people into play and he’s a threat.”
