Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez all but admitted that his side's top-four hopes had been ended by a goalless draw at home to Fulham.

The Reds are now six points behind Manchester City with only four games to play and Benitez accepts that his side's latest slip could be fatal.

He said:"We have to keep going but they have to make mistakes, two or three teams, and the difference is maybe too much now.

"City have a game in hand and even if they don't win, then there's Tottenham.

"It is not in our hands, it depends on the other teams and the difference is too much now, maybe.

"We have to keep going because it is always important to do your best and try to finish as high as possible.

"We will try to win the rest of the games and try to win the Europa League.

"It will now be very difficult, we have to be realistic, but as a manager you have to believe and support your team. We have to keep going."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
