Madjeski Stadium

Summary: Reading and QPR fates were finally sealed as they were relegated to the Championship following a goalless draw at the Madjeski Stadium.

Nigel Adkins post-match…"It's not a nice feeling to be relegated. It's a very sombre mood. I've said to the players to bottle in the feeling and use it to our advantage next season. We all want to be in the Premier League and the lessons we have experienced this season need to be used to help us get back."

Harry Redknapp post-match…"I knew before today that both of us were down. All we've done today is kill each other off. We've now got to prepare for next season. There's an awful lot of hard work needs doing in the summer. It's going to be full on."

Good day for…Adrian Mariappa: Was a tower of strength for Reading at the back and made a fantastic tackle to deny Jay Bothroyd in the first half as well as putting his body on the line to prevent a number of shots from reaching goalkeeper Alex McCarthy. Will be a key figure for the Royals next season.

Bad day for…Adel Taarabt: Heralded as QPR's playmaker-in-chief Taarabt was nowhere to be found when the club needed him most. Although he showed some neat touches the Moroccan's decision making malfunctioned on numerous occasions and was, unsurprisingly, hauled off at the break.
