Reading plan new arrivals

nigel adkinsNigel Adkins says with one or two new signings Reading will be ready for a promotion push from the Championship next season.

The Royals lost their battle to stay in the Premier League a few weeks ago and since then new boss Adkins has been planning for life back in the Championship.

Reading slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester City on Tuesday night but Adkins was not concerned with the loss and is trying to keep everyone at the club positive as they bid to make an immediate return to the top flight.

Adkins believes he has the makings of a strong squad for next season but says it is crucial they still bring in one or two new faces over the close season.
“There’s lots of positives that we’re going to take moving forward to the future,” Adkins told the club’s website.

“All being well we’ll have a good summer from a recruitment point of view, then when we arrive for next season we look forward to a campaign that’s going to be a challenging one, a demanding one, but one that’s full of desire, ambition, hope and drive at Reading Football Club.

“It’s going to be another great year to follow.”
