Real Madrid boss told to emulate Man United managerial legend

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that he wants current manager Carlo Ancelotti to emulate the achievements of Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson, Express reports.

The 55-year-old picked up a quadruple trophy haul this season, winning the Champions League, the Copa del Ray, the Super Cup, and most recently the Club World Cup.

With speculation that Ancelotti was considering a switch back to the Premier League, Perez revealed that he would like to extend his contract further, a move which he hopes can bring even more success to the club.

“We want Carlo to be Real Madrid’s Ferguson”. he said.

“We will be delighted to renew Ancelotti’s contract,” Perez said.

“I’m sure there will be no problem with Ancelotti’s renewal, but this will be negotiated at the end of the season.”

The Italian’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season and if he can continue picking up titles after titles, it is highly likely that the Spanish giants will do all they can to make sure he remains at the Bernabeu.
