Real Madrid’s push to sign Manchester United star Radamel Falcao could open the door for Liverpool to make a move for Karim Benzema, Express reports.
Falcao has been heavily linked with a move to Real since the summer and are looking to bring the Columbian on a permanent deal once his loan contract with United ends this season.
And if the former Atletico Madrid ace was to make the switch, Liverpool are set to move for Benzema to replace the misfiring Mario Balotelli at Anfield.
The Frenchman is also reportedly unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu after criticism from his manager Carlo Ancelotti, fuelling speculation that Benzema is looking to leave and play in the Premier League.
The Reds are pondering a £40million bid for Benzema, an offer that is expected to be accepted so that the European Champions can fund a move for Falcao.
Falcao has been struggling with injuries this season, but after playing in his last four league fixtures, Real believe he will be at full match fitness by May.
