Real Madrid star not keen on Gareth Bale move

Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur, 2011

Spanish expert Scott Minto has claimed that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is not keen on Spurs’ Gareth Bale’s proposed move to the Spanish capital, talkSPORT exclusively report.

Minto is the La Liga presenter for Sky Sports amongst other things and he believes that Ronaldo and manager Carlo Ancelotti are not as fussed about the arrival of the Welsh winger as president Florentino Perez is.

The two clubs are still locked in talks over a £90million deal making Bale the most expensive transfer of all time.

Madrid are not short of attacking options put Perez wants a big money deal to overshadow the arrival of Neymar at Barcelona earlier in the summer after the Brazilian rejected Perez and co.

Minto is adamant that Ronaldo amongst others is not overly keen on Bale’s arrival but expects the deal to be done sooner rather than later.

“Ronaldo is not overly keen on Bale going to Madrid. And Carlo Ancloetti is starting to think he has a glut of attacking players and doesn’t necessarily need it.

“It’s a signing Florentino Perez wants to do and he wants to make it a world record fee, but Ronaldo doesn’t want that.

“So what we’re hearing is the first bid was €96m, a world record fee, but the second bid was €90m, which would not be a world record fee because Ronaldo wants to keep himself at number one. It’s all about keeping Ronaldo happy as well.

“But what I’m hearing is it’s all pretty much agreed and I’m pretty sure it will happen.”
