Manchester United are set to allow star goalkeeper David de Gea to join Real Madrid this summer, according to reports from the Metro.
De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid in recent transfer windows, with the La Liga giants keen on replacing veteran shot-stopper Iker Casillas with the Red Devils ace.
The 24-year-old developed into one of the world’s best goalkeepers during his time at Old Trafford, even replacing Casillas as Spain’s number one.
And now reports have suggested that the Red Devils have agreed to allow De Gea to depart, but the United hierarchy are looking to bring Gareth Bale in a potential swap deal.
Bale has found it difficult to please the Santiago Bernabeu crowd, despite scoring two goals during Real’s 2-0 win over Levante during the weekend.
And his unhappiness in Spain may force a move, which could see super-agent Jorge Mendes broker a deal between the two clubs.
