Manchester United and Liverpool have been blown by the news that Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard has flown to Spain to talk to La Liga giants Real Madrid, Daily Mail reports.
Odegaard has been heavily linked with a move to several top clubs recently after embarking on a European tour, and is now set to make a decision who to sign for on a professional contract.
However after being coveted by the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Man United, Liverpool, and Manchester City, it seems that the 16-year-old is hoping to sign for Los Blancos after flying to Madrid from Oslo.
Odegaard became the youngest player to play in the European Championships at 15 years and 300 days, but former Reds star John Arne Riise believes that there is currently too much expectation on the youngster.
“I feel a bit sorry for the boy,” Riise told Norweigen publication Dagbladet.
“With anticipation the pressure rises. There is talk of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool and Arsenal. It makes people expect a lot.
“But he does seem to have his feet firmly on the ground and it seems like he has a great family around him.
“Even so, it will be tough for him now. People are wary of him and people will look out for him.”
