Real Madrid are unsure whether they are ready to break another transfer record in their chase to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard, Daily Mail reports.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the La Liga ever since the summer, but speculation of the switch grew bigger following his team’s huge decline in form.
Hazard has already seen his side lose six out of their first 11 Premier League matches this season despite only being crowned champions of England at the end of the previous campaign.
The Belgium international was also recently benched by manager Jose Mourinho following his drop in form as the winger is yet to score a single goal for his club this term.
Real are now expected to pay more than they did when they signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur for a world record £85million fee back in 2013.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich only saw his star player sign a new five-year deal earlier this year, meaning the Spanish giants will surely have to table a huge offer to acquire his services.
