Real Madrid’s chase for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero could open the door for Arsenal to sign Karim Benzema this summer, according to reports from the Metro.
Aguero has been heavily linked with an exit in recent weeks, despite the Argentina international expressing his desire to stay at the Etihad.
But Real are really pushing for a transfer, and may fund Aguero’s switch by selling Benzema this summer.
The La Liga giants have been told that they will need to sell before signing new players to be in line with Financial Fair Play regulations, putting the Frenchman’s immediate future in doubt.
The Gunners, as well as Manchester United, have been tracking Benzema for quite some time, and may finally make an offer amid Real’s interest in Aguero.
Benzema, 27, made 46 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos last season, scoring an impressive 22 goals and supplying another 15 assists.
