Real Madrid have decided against making a move for Steven Gerrard as they believe the Liverpool captain is too old.
New Real boss Jose Mourinho was believed to be interested in taking Gerrard to Spain this summer following his previous interest while at the helm of Chelsea.
Gerrard's future on Merseyside has been in doubt due to the mounting financial problems at Anfield and the recent lack of success on the pitch.
However, at 30 years of age, the Spanish giants believe England's World Cup captain would not offer value for money.
"Kaka will stay at Real, but the president does not agree with Gerrard because he is 30 and Florentino Perez doesn't want to know," explained the Spanish club's transfer consultant Ernesto Bronzetti.
"Plus, Liverpool asked for 70million euros."
