Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes England manager Fabio Capello will take Ledley King to the World Cup finals in South Africa.

The 29-year-old continues to be plagued by knee problems but, when he has played, has been superb for Spurs this season, helping them clinch an unlikely top-four place.

Rio Ferdinand is struggling with a back problem, while John Terry's form has been of some concern, so Redknapp believes King would be a good choice to take to South Africa.

When asked if King should be in the England squad, the Spurs boss said:"Yes, I do, I think he will go, I think he will go to the World Cup. He has just been absolutely amazing. His form has been unbelievable.

"He can play every six days, which is the gap between the World Cup games. It wouldn't be a problem for him.

"As long as he gets his rest and the medical staff - which they will do, they will know exactly how to look after him in between games - then it wouldn't be a problem for him."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
