Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne has called on the club's fans to offer their support as they enter a tricky festive period.
Gerard Houllier's men have slipped up in recent games, losing to Blackburn Rovers and Arsenal in the Premier League before crashing out of the Carling Cup to fierce rivals Birmingham City in midweek.
And with tough tests against Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur fast approaching, the Republic of Ireland stalwart believes the players need backed through December.
"I know the fans will be disappointed with Wednesday night but we need them now more than ever," he said.
"We need them to get behind us and support us rather than be getting on our cases. Everything that can go wrong seems to be going wrong. Even in training people are getting injured or turning up sick. We're just not having any luck at the moment.
"As well as the young lads are doing the sooner we can get everyone back fit and have a full squad in training it will benefit us all. In the meantime, we just have to knuckle down.
"For us now we just have to get back on the training ground and get ready for Liverpool on Monday.
"And, as disappointing as the Birmingham defeat was, we've got another chance later on in the season in the FA Cup to put it right."
