Roberto Mancini has again spoke out to confirm that Carlos Tevez is not leaving Manchester City, saying he will 'stay for a long time'.

The 26-year-old Argentina international has been in excellent for so far this season and with 10 top-flight goals from the first 16 games.

However, that has not stopped speculation linking Tevez with a move away from Eastlands following claims that he is homesick and would like a return to his homeland where his children currently reside.

The former Manchester United man also created talk of a rift with Mancini when hitting out at the manager when being substituted at the end of City's 1-0 victory over Bolton last weekend.

However, after Tevez spoke out earlier in the week to insist that he is going nowhere, Mancini has also moved to quell the constant claims that his star player is poised to depart in January.

"We can talk about this situation and talk about Carlos every week," he said."I have explained it 1,000 times.

"Carlos is a fantastic player. He is one of the most important players in Europe and maybe in the world. He will stay here for a long time because he not told me otherwise."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
