Roberto Martinez believes he could be facing a battle to keep Shaun Maloney after he inspired Wigan to victory at West Brom.
It has been another season of struggle for Latics but Maloney has been consistently good and put in another fine display as Wigan came from behind to defeat the Baggies 3-2.
Wigan are still rooted in the relegation zone with three games remaining but can jump out of it with a victory over Swansea on Tuesday night and Martinez will again be hoping that Maloney is on top form.
The Spaniard has nothing but praise for the Scot and is bracing himself for offers as soon as the window re-opens, no matter what division Wigan find themselves in.
“Shaun Maloney should be playing for teams fighting for titles,” Martinez revealed. “He’s got the quality of any player playing in that position. Shaun could have been born in any other country in terms of his technical ability.
“I would never be surprised if a club with more tradition and bigger power looked at him.”
When asked to name his price, Martinez quipped: “The whole stadium.”
