Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has hailed striker Hugo Rodallega for getting back on the goal trail in the 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers.
The 24-year-old Colombia international took his season’s tally to seven in the Premier League, having missed a penalty in the 2-2 draw at Stoke City just over a fortnight ago.
Martinez said:“A few people were doubting whether the penalty he missed at Stoke was going to affect his season, but I think he showed he is extremely confident.
“He is probably more powerful in the air than people give him credit for, he works extremely hard and he fully deserved his goal.
“I’m sure he will carry on growing and fulfil his potential, but if you look at the number of chances we have created I don’t think we are too reliant on one player.
“I think we have many dimensions in our play and can be a real threat.”
