Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has stated that the Welsh side have not completed a deal to sign on-loan star Gylfi Sigurdsson on a permanent basis, but has hailed the attacking midfielder’s influence since joining the club.
The Iceland international has been impressive in his time at the Liberty Stadium, but as yet there is no deal to bring him to the Premier League for good.
“He is still a Hoffenheim player,” Rodgers told Sky Sports.
“He has had a wonderful effect on the group and I know he thoroughly enjoys it here, but we have been unable to sit down and discuss anything so until that happens then the situation remains the same.
“He is a loan player who is benefiting from playing with a wonderful group of players and we are benefiting from his qualities.
“We can see he fits perfectly into our style and we complement each other well but we will see what happens between now and the end of the season,” he concluded.
