As reported by The Herald, Brendan Rodgers will have no hesitation giving Leigh Griffiths a chance to shine in the first team following Moussa Dembele's hamstring injury.

What's the story?

Dembele had to exit Sunday's Scottish Cup Semi-Final early, going off in the first half after suffering a hamstring injury and that's set to see him miss at least a few games in the Hoops.

With big games to come for the Hoops, most notably this weekend's fixture away to Rangers and the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen, fans are hoping to see more from last season's 40-goal man Leigh Griffiths.

Incredibly the Scotland international hasn't started a game for the Hoops in 2017 so far, last appearing from the beginning of a match on 28th December against Ross County.

Now though, it looks as if he will get his chance.

As quoted by The Herald, Brendan Rodgers said:

Leigh's fit and available. He came on against Rangers and made a really good impact on the game. I'm fortunate that I have two really good strikers I'm happy to stick in and play. With Moussa being out it'll give Leigh the chance to come in. When he's on the pitch for a length of time it always looks like he's going to score. He's a real threat. From 25 metres in he's top class.

Celtic supporters will be hoping he can show some of that class in the coming weeks. They have firepower all over the team but having a focal point that can guarantee goals could be the difference between an iconic, historic season and not.

Despite his lack of games, he's still scored 14 goals this season and you wouldn't be against him getting a few more between now and the end of May.
