AS Roma head coach, Zdenek Zeman believes Daniele De Rossi will remain at the club despite Manchester City interest.

The Italy international has called for a media conference on Tuesday to reveal his future plans.

Roma are under no pressure to sell the midfielder who signed a new long term deal with his hometown club in February.

Zeman told SkySports he remains confident the World Cup winner will stay at the club, “I am convinced that De Rossi stays with us.

“He is very important to us and the club has not asked me anything about him.”

City boss, Roberto Mancini has publicly expressed his frustrations at the lack of transfer activity his club has managed. While competition is already fierce in the Blues midfield.  The Premier League champion’s one summer addition Jack Rodwell, is just one of a plethora of internationals vying for a start in the heart of the champion's midfield.
