Roma will have revenge on their mind when they face Cagliari in Serie A action on Saturday.

They were humiliated 5-1 in the reverse fixture at the Stadio Sant'Elia this campaign, but Roma have since recovered from their poor early season form.

Claudio Ranieri's men are fifth in the standings, just two points behind second-placed Lazio.

Roma will head into the encounter high on confidence after they beat city rivals Lazio 2-1 in the Coppa Italia in mid-week, but Ranieri said he is wary of their opponents.

"Cagliari are playing well. (Cagliari manager Roberto) Donadoni has followed the path started by Allegri and (Pierpaolo) Bisoli," he said.

"He hasn't made any changes and there are several players who have been playing together for a long time, therefore they know each other very well."

"We should be extremely careful from a tactical point of view. (Andrea) Cossu can make a difference - he is very good and unpredictable. They are certainly a well structured team."

The hosts will be bolstered by the return of captain Francesco Totti, who missed the victory over Lazio through suspension, but striker Adriano is out with a shoulder injury.

Cagliari will travel to the Italian capital looking for a third consecutive win.

Last weekend's 3-2 triumph over Palermo lifted the Sardinians to ninth in the table and Donadoni will be hoping to keep up the positive momentum.
