Roma are plotting a £10million move for Manchester City star James Milner, according to the Daily Star.
Milner has been in decent form for City this season, earning the man of the match award in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, and filling in a number of different positions for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
He also started England’s latest European Championship qualifier, in an indication he could be set to play a bigger part for his country under Roy Hodgson.
But with Milner not assured of a regular first team place at the Etihad, Italian giants Roma are set to launch a £10million offer when the January transfer window opens.
The news will put City under pressure to tie the winger to a long term contract.
Milner is out of contract at the Etihad in the summer, and would be free to talk to other clubs in January.
City are keen to keep him after his impressive performances in recent months, whilst he is also one of the few homegrown players on the clubs books.
But with news of interest from abroad, Milner is likely to bide his time and consider his options before committing himself to a new deal with the Premier League champions.
