Roma star flies in to discuss £31m Chelsea switch

Roma star Miralem Pjanic has travelled to London in order to negotiate the terms of a possible £31million move to Chelsea, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge ever since speculation that Italy manager Antonio Conte was set to replace interim boss Guus Hiddink this summer.

With the Blues recently confirming the appointment of Conte, Pjanic looks to have emerged as the top transfer target heading into the upcoming transfer window.

Talks over the potential switch is believed to be underway as Chelsea look to put the current campaign behind them and plan for a title challenge next season.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is also a target for rivals Manchester United and is currently tied down with a £31million buyout clause, a fee that Conte is willing to trigger.

He has already featured 36 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score 11 goals while providing another 11 assists.
