Everton playmaker Ross Barkley has been watching clips of the game’s best creative talents at work in a bid to improve his game, including Arsenal pair Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla.
The England international has had a stellar campaign so far this term and is starting to live up to his superstar billing.
Barkley has linked well with the rest of the Toffees’ impressive attacking unit in recent weeks, with the homegrown hero netted twice in a 4-0 win over Aston Villa for Roberto Martinez’s men last time out.
The gifted midfielder has admitted that he hopes to get even better and admitted that he has been watching clips of Ozil, Cazorla, Yaya Toure, Paul Scholes and Paul Gascoigne.
“I try and replicate what I have seen,” Barkley told The Guardian.
“I think it is good to do that. I will work on things I’ve seen they are good at, try and pull it off in training and take it into games.”
Everton will face a battle to hold onto the likes of Barkley if they do not finish in the top four this season, with Manchester United and Chelsea both linked with the star midfielder in recent times.
Despite Martinez having a superb squad at his disposal, Barkley is arguably the brightest talent of a stellar group.
