Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has stated that his side are ready to make a statement in the derby clash with Manchester City on Monday night, and deserve to be crowned Premier League champions.

The Red Devils sit three points clear of their arch enemies with three games left to play, with Roberto Mancini's men at home for the Manchester derby fixture.

Despite being away from home, Giggs feels that his side have the potential to end the title race at the Etihad Stadium.

“City will be looking at it and fancying themselves to win because they’re a good team and they’re at home," he told The Sun.

“But we’re Manchester United, we’re the champions and we’ll try and put a statement out that we deserve to win this league.

“We have experience when it comes to winning titles, but City have got experienced players who have maybe won titles with other clubs. We need to make sure we use the experience we’ve got.

“It’s a big game but as United players we’re definitely used to it.

“If I’m involved against City I’ll be more excited than anyone even though I’ve played in so many. These are the sort of games I’m still involved in football for.

“They’re big, title-deciding games. Apart from cup finals this is as big as you can get. There is no mistaking this is a massive game and the biggest in recent times," he concluded.
