Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is set to miss six weeks with a hamstring tear sustained during the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur during the past weekend, Goal.com reports.
This would come as a big blow to manager Arsene Wenger with Mikel Arteta, Laurent Koscielny, and Jack Wilshere all already set to miss their Champions League clash with Galatasaray on Wednesday.
Wilshere and Koscielny could still make the midweek fixture with late fitness tests to be conducted prior to the game, but Ramsey will be joining Arteta on in injury table who has a confirmed calf strain.
Arsenal boss Wenger is currently facing a midfield injury crisis and will be desperately hoping that Wilshere, whose injury has been suggested to be minor, will be available in keeping their European hopes alive after losing comprehensively to Borussia Dortmund in the group’s first fixture.
Wenger will also be looking into his squad’s vulnerability to injuries, as the Frenchman can’t comprehend the muscular problems suffered by Ramsey and Arteta after resting them in their Capital One Cup loss to Southampton.
“We have to really analyse what happened,” Wenger said on Saturday. “There’s no logic as they had quite a light week for them. I don’t understand.
