Scotland star makes bizarre Marseille loan switch

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has made a shock loan move to Marseille for the rest of the season, report the Daily Mail.

The Scottish international had been linked with a move to Celtic, though instead will join the French club.

He had been plying his trade at the Stadium of Light since 2012 after making a £12m switch from Wolves.

Across his 102 appearances for the Black Cats, he notched 23 times for the club.

The 28-year old former Hibernian forward had not appeared for over a month, with his last outing coming against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
