As reported by The Daily Record, Celtic captain Scott Brown is backing is national team boss Gordon Strachan win, lose or draw against Slovenia tonight at Hampden.

What's the story?

Scotland are standing on a cliff edge, facing World Cup Qualification exit if they don't see off Slovenia at Hampden on Sunday night.

Gordon Strachan has had a difficult time of it as national team boss of late, winning just two matches in his last competitive games, and they were against Malta and Gibraltar.

It's fair to say The Tartan Army are upset about that, with some feeling it's time for the legendary Scot to step aside and let someone else take a fresh look at the country's footballing fortunes.

Central to any good performance tonight will be Scott Brown and he's backing his manager to stay on in the job regardless of what happens in Sunday's match.

As quoted by The Daily Record, Brown said:

You learn off the best and he is the best in the business. Even though he is getting on, he is still learning and he is still improving. His training is what I will try to do when I’m a manager. Everyone just wants change here and there, but who else can you put in that’s going to come to the Scotland job and stay? And gets 27 players coming along to squads?

It's high praise indeed and loyal backing for a manager who has given Scott Brown big chances in his career so far. Strachan was the man who signed Brown to Celtic from Hibernian after all.

Can that loyalty and faith in the Scotland boss be shown in the performance of the Scotland team tonight?
