Everton have agreed a deal to sign Switzerland international defender Philippe Senderos on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.
The 24-year old will wrap up his switch to Goodison Park in the next couple of days, giving Toffees boss David Moyes a valuable added option in defence.
Moyes almost signed Senderos last summer following Joleon Lescott's big-money transfer to Manchester City, but was put off by the Gunners' £5million valuation of the player.
Senderos has only played two games for the Gunners this season and was keen to move away from the Emirates Stadium to improve his chances of winning a place in the Swiss squad for the World Cup finals.
He joined Arsenal in late 2002, but was rarely ever a regular starter for any period of time and he spent last season on loan with AC Milan.
