Napoli are believed to be interested in the double cut-price signings of Liverpool’s Glen Johnson as well as Manchester City’s James Milner ahead of the January window, Mirror reports.
Johnson’s current contract at Anfield will expire at the end of the season and with talks of an extension not taking place, the club may be forced to sell him or risk losing him on a free transfer during the summer.
The same goes for Milner, whose deal is set to expire when his current campaign ends and has earlier revealed his intentions to move if Manual Pellegrini doesn’t give him an improved role in the first team.
Apart from the English Premier League duo, the Serie A side is also considering a deal to sign Dynamo Moscow centre-back Chris Samba with the side considering affordable reinforcements during the upcoming window.
Rafael Benitez’s side is currently seventh in the league with six matches played, but is well aware that he can strengthen his squad with some smart additions.
