Juventus are hoping to sign Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic in the summer, that is according to the Daily Star.
The Old Lady, who went 10 points clear at the top of Serie A after defeating AC Milan 3-1 last night, were interested in signing Jovetic in 2008 when he was plying his trade for Partizan Belgrade. However, Juve were reluctant to meet the £8million asking price, something which Italian rivals Fiorentina had no qualms in paying.
Jovetic’s future under Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium has been thrown into doubt following the Man City gaffer’s decision to omit the 25-year-old, who City paid £22million for back in 2013, from City’s Champions League squad – January transfer window signing Wilfried Bony has taken up Jovetic’s space.
The Montenegro international has had an injury hit time to his City career, to date and has regularly found himself down the pecking order behind the likes of Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and, whilst he was at the club, Alvaro Negredo.
