Serie A winning manager linked with shock Man United job

Manchester United have recently been linked with a shock move to replace current boss Louis van Gaal with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, according to Repubblica, as reported by the Express.

The 48-year-old has been very successful since taking over with the Italian giants, winning the Serie A in his first season.

However, he has begun the current campaign on poor form as his team now sit fifth on the table after already registering four losses from their first 14 league matches.

Despite his recent qualification into the latter stages of the Champions League last week, his job could still be under threat if they fail to improve in the domestic league.

United will also have to consider their options given that Van Gaal is expected to leave Old Trafford once his deal expires at the end of the 2016-2017 campaign.

Apart from Allegri, other managerial candidates for the Red Devils include current assistant manager Ryan Giggs as well as Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola.
