Former Tottenham Hotspur attacker Teddy Sheringham has stated that Harry Kane must consider his future carefully – especially if Manchester United come knocking.
The retired England international moved from White Hart Lane to Old Trafford in his career, where he was very successful.
Kane has emerged as a top centre forward over the last 24 months and is one of the most respected players in his position in English football.
The North London outfit have had a fantastic campaign and are putting forward a title challenge with seven games remaining.
Kane is the side’s attacking talisman and is the division’s top goalscorer ahead of facing United later today.
Sheringham has stated that the Spurs striker is the complete package and a player that will be in demand – and as such he should carefully consider if and when he is to leave Tottenham.
“I’m sure there are top clubs looking at him and they’d be prepared to break the bank just because of the way he plays and the way he wants to score goals every time he gets the ball,” The Daily Mail quote Sheringham as saying.
“Should he move right now? I don’t know. Timing’s a funny thing in football because you have to take the opportunity when it arises.
“If you don’t, another striker might go to United or Real Madrid or whoever we’re talking about and you won’t get the chance again for another four or five years.
“You’ve only got a period of about 12 years in professional football and when these things come along you have to take tough decisions. Sometimes they feel right and you have to go with the flow.”
Kane will hope to fire Tottenham to three points later today as his side hosts Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
