Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly attempted to lure Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United with a phone call last week, according to the Express.
Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a return to Old Trafford in recent weeks that it has now become somewhat of an obsession for the United supporters.
The Portuguese international has previously fallen out with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez over the club’s transfer policy, before Perez then attacked Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendez over the media.
And according to French agent Francois Gallardo, it seems that Sir Alex Ferguson, who purchased Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon back in 2003, has given his former player a call to convince him to once again ply his trade in the Premier League.
Gallardo told Le 10 Sport: “On Wednesday Cristiano received a call from Ferguson [about returning to United].
“He was he was happy at Real Madrid but the whole transfer depends on Jorge Mendes.”
Mendes’ clients also include Man United pair Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao, which is a big boost in pushing the Ballon D’or winner to possibly make his way back to Old Trafford.
